“Having visited Holywell Bay for many years, watching the surfers and thinking “I’d love to try that”, I booked a surf lesson for the whole family (two teenagers and their parents) with Lee. What a fantastic afternoon! We all had a great time and learned loads. I really expected not to be able to do more than maybe get on to my knees but by the end of the session I was able to stand up, much to my amazement. Lee’s teaching was superb, tailored to suit our individual needs; the whole lesson felt relaxed and there was no pressure to do more than we felt happy with. Most of all, it was FUN! So much so that I signed up for another lesson a few days later. Now that I know a few basics, I can’t wait to get back to Holywell Bay and have another go! I don’t know why I waited so long to give surfing a try. Thanks again, Holywell Bay School of Surf.”

I went to Holywell bay on holiday with the children. Being from Australia originally and only bodyboarding I wanted to get up and surf the wave….. Holywell bay near Newquay is the place where my thoughts became reality.

My son (8 yrs) and I decided to do the surf lesson with lee at Holywell bay surf school. We started with the sunset lesson with lee our instructor. Frankie was up after possibly a few try’s….. I however found it quite difficult but lee kept going and kept us going…. Just brilliant. The next lesson we had with lee was even better… Lee is so determined and so happy to see you stand on the board… Not as happy as me!!! Once I got it… I loved it… To stand on your surfboard and surf into the beach is an amazing feeling… My son loved it… I ( eventually) loved it… And Lee… First but BEST surf instructor ever!!!!!!! Xx

Our experience at Holywell Bay Surf School was the highlight of our weekend away. From the moment we arrived we were met with smiles and extremely helpful information. Our instructor Ella took her time to explain everything we needed to know clearly and enthusiastically. We never once felt un-able to ask questions as everybody was so friendly and re-assuring. Thanks a lot guys. We will definitely be back soon!

Having private early morning lessons was the perfect way to start the day!

We had the beach to ourselves and the instructor was faultless.

Got further with surfing that initial thought possible and i think this is down to the combination of the time, the beach and the instructor.

Our school have been coming to Holywell Bay for a number of years now for our leavers camp.  The children love surfing and the Holywell Bay instructors help to make the sessions very enjoyable.

The surf instruction is second to none and every year they help me get a bit better too.  Holywell Bay is also one of the most beautiful, clean and unspoilt beaches I have ever surfed on.  We wouldn’t even consider going anywhere else now!
